In English - about SK7BQ
The radio club ”Kristianstads Radioamatörer” (Swedish for: Radio Amateurs of Kristianstad) SK7BQ was founded in 1961. The club location has changed over the years but nowadays we have an excellent location close to the city centre. You can find a guide to our QTH by clicking here. Thanks to the members the club has a stable economy with a well equipped shack. We are around 55 licensed members in the club and a few without a license. Members come from a large area around Kristianstad and even from other call districts. The club has a close cooperation with the local fire and rescue service. Some club members are contracted as radio operators who can assist during emergencies and severe weather conditions, like Hurricane Gudrun in 2005. Hurricane Gudrun, which swept over Sweden the night before January 9, 2005, caused the involuntary felling of some 75 million cubic metres of forest, nearly equivalent to a year’s timber harvest. During that hurricane the club made a massive effort supporting the local rescue and emergency services.Kristianstads Radioamatörer operates two repeaters: SK7BQ/R on 145.7375MHz output / 145.1375MHz input in Skepparslöv, in the outskirts of Kristianstad, and SK7BQ/R 2 on 434.825 MHz output / 433.225MHz input in Åhus south of Kristianstad. The 2m repeater can be accessed with a 1750Hz tone or a DTMF 7. The 70cm repeater can only be accessed with a 1750Hz tone. The 70cm repeater might be moved to the same QTH as the 2m repeater in the future. Some photos of the 2m repeater are in our photo gallery. Please feel free to use our repeaters when visiting our neighbourhood. The 2m repeater can easily be accessed on European Route 22, E22 in short, from Hässleholm in the west to Sölvesborg in the east. E22 is one of the longest roads in Europe, it starts in Holyhead Wales and ends up in Ishim in Western Siberia, a distance of 5320 km. Kristianstads Radioamatörer is also hosting ARDF foxhunting competitions for beginners and experts. The club hosted the Swedish ARDF Championship in 2003. Equipment can be borrowed from the club during hunts. Club matters are attended to by the club board and at club meetings, Wednesdays in weeks with even week numbers, that is week 2,4,6,8 etc, at 19.00 hours local time.
